Negombo’s Dutch canal network and lagoon fishing villages give it considerably more depth than a simple arrival stop, with traditional catamaran fishing still practised much as it has been for generations. It works naturally as a first or last night on almost any itinerary, easing the transition either side of a long-haul flight.
