A climb of the strange, 48 metre spiral Ambuluwawa Tower near Kandy, at the centre of a working Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Christian temple complex sharing a single hilltop, with panoramic views over the surrounding hills. The staircase narrows to barely a shoulder’s width near the top, which is not suitable for those uncomfortable with heights or tight spaces.
